Step 1:

Draw a heart-shaped template or get a printout. Cut out the template pattern on the large sheet of cardstock. You have to make four hearts; two for the base and two for the top. Step 2:

Step 3:

Bend the tabs one by one. Glue the circular tabs inside the line onto the base. Start from the tip of the heart and work around to the top.

Step 4:

Connect the pieces of the contrast band in the center in such a way that edges are aligned. Attach this contrast band to the backside of the top heart. Use your traced line as a guide. Make sure that it fits exactly over the bottom band before gluing. Cut to fit if required. The top band is kept a little longer than necessary to allow for a custom fit. Start attaching by gluing the circle tabs outside the line. It is recommended to start from the top of the heart and work around towards the bottom.

Step 5:

Add liners to both the top and bottom lids. This makes your cheap candy boxes more presentable from inside.

Step 6:

Now it's the time to embellish the box. You may use paints, markers, glitter, ribbons, bead, or any other embellishment to give it an adorable look. A simple colored or the printed paper is perfect enough to make your box more attractive.
